About Roaming Rocks

The quick explanation is this:

Share the joy (and maybe a “What the heck?”) you felt when you discovered your rock with others.
Pay the feeling forward 😄

Let people find something that they didn’t even know they were searching for.

For a bit of background, this project was started on a whim. There’s no greater reason than to see who will play along and how far these rocks will go. All I ask is that you respect the rocks. If you don’t want to play, that’s fine. Leave it where you found it and go about your day. If you are up for some fun, take the rock with you. Write a post and/or mark the map where you found it. Then move it on to a new location for another person to find.

If you love the rock you found and want to keep it, that’s fine too. But when you tire of it, let it roam again. No need to throw it away. You literally could place it on any street corner and someone will find it.

The rocks don’t need to be perfect. If you want to make one, ANYTHING (well nearly anything) is fine! And if your rock is…questionable, it won’t be added to the site. Everything that is on here from the full rock posts to the map pings are all curated. You won’t see your post until I see it and approve it. No exceptions. It may take a while to get approved, but I’ll do my best to get them published ASAP.

If you need to get in touch, leave a comment. Those are curated too. Anything that is posted will have human eyeballs on it. The internet can be a weird and uncouth place. This won’t be one of them.
